After Migrating users to Office365 users will make an issue of other external people or organizations getting a Winmail.dat file as an attachment instead of actual files or attachments.   Below are the commands you how to fix this, so that Office365 doesn’t send in this format to people who are outside your organization.

Open powershell and run it as an administrator

The commands you need to cut and paste

set-executionpolicy unrestricted

(You will get a prompt.  say yes (y) to get full control)

$LiveCred = Get-Credential

(After entering the above command you will get a prompt for a username and password.  Enter the office365 username and password)

$Session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri https://ps.outlook.com/powershell/ -Credential $LiveCred -Authentication Basic -AllowRedirection

Import-PSSession $Session

Set-RemoteDomain Default -TNEFEnabled $false

(After entering the above command you will not get a response. this is normal.  It will just move to the next line)
